Comp-Tac Republic Of Texas IDPA Championship Draws Lone Star State’s Best

LOGO-2014-Rep-of-TexasBERRYVILLE, Ark. – The Lone Star State’s top shooters are headed to Cresson, Texas in two weeks to test their defensive shooting skills in the 2014 Comp-Tac Republic of Texas IDPA Championship.

Serving as the state’s premier defensive pistol shooting competition and state championship match, the sold-out Comp-Tac Republic of Texas IDPA Championship will take place Saturday, May 24 at the Triple C Tactical Range in Cresson. The event is being hosted by the Collin County IDPA club.

“Comp-Tac is very pleased to once again be the title sponsor of the Republic of Texas IDPA Championship. As the top holster brand in IDPA, and a proud Texas-based company, we know Texans are passionate about their shooting sports and we are committed to supporting our friends and neighbors here in the Lone Star State,” said Gregg Garrett, owner and president of Comp-Tac.

This is the second year in a row that Comp-Tac has taken the title sponsorship position at the Texas IDPA state match. The shooting competition is among the many that Comp-Tac supports throughout the U.S.

“The International Defensive Pistol Association is very fortunate to have a great working relationship with many of the firearms industry’s leading companies, such as Comp-Tac. Our members throughout Texas and across the United States appreciate the generous support Comp-Tac and others have provided IDPA, because without them we wouldn’t be the fastest growing shooting sport in the country,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

The 12 stage Comp-Tac Republic of Texas IDPA Championship will kick off early Saturday morning, May 24, with 7:00am registration followed by an 8:00am shooters’ meeting. First shots will be fired at approximately 8:15am and the match is scheduled to wrap up at 5:00pm. The awards ceremony will take place at 6:00pm.
