Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC’s governing board appoints Dennis Veilleux as company president and Chief Executive Officer

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Governing Board of Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC announces the appointment of Dennis Veilleux as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Veilleux brings a broad and extensive knowledge of firearms manufacturing and a proven record of success at Colt.  Veilleux succeeds retired Lt. Gen. William M. Keys, USMC, who will continue to provide Colt the benefit of his wealth of experience and sound business judgment as President and Chief Executive Officer Emeritus and as a member of the Board.

General Keys’ leadership throughout his tenure is credited with returning Colt’s Manufacturing Company to prominence as the worldwide leader in small arms manufacturing. His commitment to quality and excellence is well known throughout the industry.  With the introduction of new products, streamlined manufacturing processes and a keen awareness of demanding needs of the customer base, General Keys has positioned Colt’s Manufacturing for continued growth and success.

Veilleux joined Colt in 2006 as the Executive Director of Engineering, and his talents and contributions to the company were immediately realized.  He was soon promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing at Colt Defense and quickly thereafter named as the Chief Operating Officer for Colt’s Manufacturing.

Veilleux’s career includes positions with GE Armament, Ruger and FN Group (FNMI, Winchester and Browning).  His vast experience and well established reputation within the small arms industry made him the ideal candidate for the position.

A demonstrated and accomplished leader, Veilleux possesses a great mix of operational experience and technical expertise.  As President and CEO, Veilleux is committed to continuing to reindustrialize, increase output to gain market share and capitalize on the strength of the Colt brand while maintaining a quality product.
