COLUMBIA, S.C. — EOTAC’s Robert Vogel made it two years in a row as he again won
the Limited-10 division title at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association
(USPSA) Area 5 regional championship held June 19-21 at the South Kent
Sportsman’s Club in Dorr, Mich.
Vogel,
who is a full-time law enforcement officer living in Wapakoneta, Ohio, dominated
the match by winning nine of the 15 stages on his way to posting a final score
of 1375.9936, just over 31 points ahead of second place shooter Max Michel of
Meraux, La.
“This
season Bob has shown why he is the reigning USPSA national champ,” said Fernando
Coelho, president of EOTAC. “He is at the top of his game and continues to pick
up title after title as he works his way towards defending his national title
this September.”
Rounding
out the top five were Michel in second with four stages wins and a score of
1346.7282, David Richman of Dousman, Wis., in third with a score of 1023.6600
and Steve Sweeney of Pinckneyville, Ill., and Carmine Perrelli of Ontario,
Canada, taking fourth and fifth shooting 949.8246 and 939.4977 respectively.
Over
78,000 rounds were put downrange at the USPSA Area 5 Championship with 275 top
shooters competing for titles in the Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production,
Revolver and Single Stack divisions.
