I've formed some firm conclusions about my friend the 1911 pistol. I bought my first one at the age of 18 and have carried the same gun all my life. I've lost count of the 1911s I've bought and sold and I don't really know how many I have squirreled away.

All predators are always killers. When they attack, your options for self-defense are very limited.
A few of Roger's Rules -

Roger Tucker,
now deceased, had a pragmatic view of the world. He carried a 1911
cross-draw, sans holster, next to his skin most of his adult life so
much so that he had an imprint of the gun in his flesh!

How accurate were
the original 1911s? Common wisdom has it that if you could plunk five

gun accurized.

Regarding the
above title and this blog, I disagree, in part, with the notion of some
of us being categorized as a "sheepdog". I don't carry an active badge
anymore and am not a caretaker for strangers. "Prickly" does about
cover it though.
