Remember these performers’ names. They are good hearted and brave. Kevin Farley, Kelsey Grammer, Leslie Nielsen, Trace Adkins, Dennis Hopper, James Woods, Robert Davi, Geoffrey Arend, Serdar Kalsin and Jon Voight. And, think well of Director David Zucker, the man who gave us “Airplane!” and “The Naked Gun.” These people, along with Fox’s Bill O’Reilly and other actors and myriad technicians, are in a movie that every gun owning American who doesn’t plan on voting for Mr. Obama or any other liberals and wouldn’t see a Michael Moore film under penalty of death should patronize and enjoy.
“An American Carol” is a satirical take on the Dickens classic, wherein the miserly Mr. Scrooge, who doesn’t believe in the spirit of Christmas, is visited by his dead partner, Marley. Scrooge is told that he will be visited by three ghosts. In David Zucker’s version, the ghost of J.F.K. visits a despicable leftist documentary film maker who wants to outlaw The Fourth of July. The ghost of George Patton, the Angel of Death and the ghost of George Washington take on the re-education of this sadly misguided documentarian.
The result is a film every liberal will despise, most liberals will avoid like an STD and people who love America will find at once extremely funny, yet truthful and, at times, not only thought provoking, but something that could well bring tears to one’s eyes.
Farley is excellent as the film maker. Robert Davi is at once menacing and funny as a radical Islamic terrorist. As usual, Leslie Nielsen’s acting is, at once, inspired and hysterical. Kelsey Grammer carries off Patton wonderfully. Kelsey Grammer is so well-spoken, I’d almost pay just to listen to him reading the phone book. Jon Voight’s portrayal of George Washington is played perfectly straight, not a laugh there. Mr. Voight’s performance is unforgettably good. It was a shame that Voight’s on-screen time was short.
Why are these actors brave? They attack every leftist icon, assault anti-Americanism in every frame of the film, and exalt the courage of our men and women in uniform now and throughout America’s past. These people weren’t afraid to show their patriotism. Show your patriotism by seeing “An American Carol” right away. Sharon and I are proud to have seen it and will buy the DVD when it’s available.
